Mark your calendars for 22 June 2024 and join Healthy North Coast as we come together to shape the future of primary healthcare.
Healthy North Coast’s Immediate Care in Primary Health Conference is shaping up to be an exceptional day of learning, networking, and impactful discussions on immediate care in primary health, set amongst the breathtaking scenery of Gumbaynggirr Country at Pacific Bay Resort Coffs Harbour. And it couldn’t come at a more vital time!
Immediate care in primary health is crucial for addressing the health needs of individuals and families across the North Coast. From minor injuries to sudden illnesses, when these issues arise they require swift intervention to prevent further complications or an escalation in the treatment required.
The provision of timely, tailored and comprehensive care is essential for preserving the health and wellbeing of our population as well as easing pressure on emergency departments, reflecting a move towards more accessible and efficient healthcare.
Healthy North Coast GP Medical Educators, Dr Andy Williams and Dr Liz Hicks, understand firsthand that in the busy day-to-day work of primary health professionals, medical problems can often come at the most unexpected times:
“Learning how to deal with immediate presentations in a primary care setting is essential for all health practitioners, whether you’re a GP, nurse, pharmacist of or an allied health professional with each playing an interconnected role.”
The Immediate Care in Primary Health Conference 2024 aims to upskill local healthcare professionals to support the needs of our community by delivering four current profession-specific education streams for GPs, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals.
Luke Elias, Healthy North Coast Director of Primary Care Impact and Partnerships, added:
“The unique conference format supports our health professionals to learn both as part of their professional groups and as a multidisciplinary team. It is great to provide a face-to-face experience on the NSW North Coast for our primary care clinicians to learn together and connect with each other”
Joining Healthy North Coast is a host of industry experts presenting on a vast range of immediate care topics commonly seen in a primary health setting such as acute arrythmia delivered by Dr Austin May and common fractures and their management presented by Dr Matthew Broadhead.
Join the dialogue around paediatric emergencies with Dr Stephanie White and gain knowledge on immediate care in the diabetic with Dr Hywel James.
Following a day of enriching discussions and learning, guests have the chance to unwind and network over dinner, catching up with friends as well as making new connections before hitting the dance floor to a range of classics from the Matty Devitt Band.
