Increase rate of influenza immunisation for high risk patients.

Measure

Percentage of high-risk patients immunised for influenza.

Starting point

Read HealthPathways guidelines for influenza immunisation.
Read NSW Health guidelines for influenza immunisation 2020.
Measure baseline immunisation rates using Pen CAT recipe to identify patients at risk for influenza with predisposing conditions.
Schedule regular team meeting to discuss and brainstorm ideas for increasing immunisation to high risk patients.
Attend relevant training in annual immunisation update and organise post-education follow-up team discussion.

Possible improvement ideas

Put a recall and reminder system in place.
Notify at-risk patients that immunisations are available.
Perform and document opportunistic immunisation for target groups.
Review and update policies and procedures for anaphylaxis management.
Nominate a GP to consent and document immunisation.
