During October, Healthy Towns Woolgoolga helped to establish an Interagency meeting for service providers, and co-ordinate a Mental Health Month community breakfast. Read on for an update of what’s been happening.
Woolgoolga Interagency Meeting
During the consultation and workshop process, a need was identified for an ongoing forum to allow service providers to share information and activities with each other. In collaboration with the Woolgoolga Neighbourhood Centre, the first interagency meeting was held at the start of October. The meeting was a success with lots of helpful knowledge sharing occurring between attendees.
The interagency meetings will be held bi-monthly. The next Woolgoolga Interagency meeting will be held Monday 3rd December at 2pm at the Woolgoolga CWA Hall. For more information contact Jacqui Smith on [email protected] or 0437 473 672.
Community Wellbeing Breakfast
During Mental Health Month, Healthy Towns partnered with Fluro Friday and RAHMP (Rural Adversity Mental Health Program) to deliver a healthy pancake breakfast and community event. The event gave community members a chance to come a long and learn about local services and activities.
Cooking demonstrations, face painting, yoga, nature mandala making and a Fluro Friday anti-bad vibe circle were among the highlights.
What’s next?
Healthy Towns Woolgoolga is co-ordinating working groups for local initiatives which include a nutrition and cooking program, PCYC Safer Driver Youth program and a men’s health and wellbeing program. Dates will be announced soon!
