Healthy North Coast is excited to have engaged Dr Liz Hicks as a part-time medical educator commencing 8 October.
Liz is a graduate of Alstonville High School, and initially commenced study in law and environmental science at SCU before gaining entry to medicine. She graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2007 before going on to complete hospital-based residency as well as GP training in the Hunter New England region. Liz gained her FRACGP in 2012. She holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine from the RACP as well as a Diploma of Practice Management.
Currently, Liz splits her time between clinical work as a GP in Ballina, practice manager work in a local skin cancer clinic, and now a medical educator role with Healthy North Coast. She is an accredited IMG supervisor, and has undertaken further clinical training in skin cancer, women’s health and travel medicine. She is also mum to 2 young children and has a fur-baby (Labrador) and 6 chickens. In her so-called ‘spare’ time, Liz enjoys cooking sweet treats, reading and dabbles a little with creative writing.
Welcome Liz!
