No other single cause of injury, including road trauma, costs the health system more than falls. In NSW each year, falls lead to approximately 27,000 hospitalisations and more than 400 deaths. More than one in three people aged 65 or over fall at least once a year and many fall more often. There has been extensive research demonstrating that many falls among older people can be prevented.
The Mid North Coast Nurse Network evening on 1 March 2018 at Aanuka Resort in Coffs Harbour is an opportunity for nurses to network with your peers.
This Falls Prevention evening will offer an opportunity to meet local physiotherapists, staff from the Stepping On program, pharmacists and general practitioners within a World Café group discussion model to learn skills and strategies to reduce falls and implement positive lifestyle changes for your patients.

We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we live and work, the Bundjalung, Arakwal, Yaegl, Gumbaynggirr, Githabul, Dunghutti and Birpai Nations, and their continuing connection to land, sea and community. We pay our respects to elders past, present and future.
