Immunisation Teleconference
The North Public Health Unit and NCPHN are now offering a teleconference on a regular basis to give more frequent updates of immunisation news and events.
We encourage all immunisation providers to dial in. It will be a great opportunity to share experiences, ask questions and learn from others. Network. The first teleconference will be held 1 March 2018 at 2pm.
Click here for the dial-in details.
AIR Function Errors
The search function for the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) has changed. Previously it required the exact spelling to find a match. Now it will try to find a patient with a similar spelling in case you spell the name incorrectly. This has made it easier to enter data against the wrong person. Immunisation providers need to be diligent with double checking patient details before entering data.
There is a known occasional issue that has been presenting when a new overseas patient is being created. It is possible to create the person, enter vaccinations, submit and receive a claim number, but it does not process properly. If this does happen, please email AIR via secure messaging so that they have a record of the incident and this can assist with the resolution of the issue. To avoid the possibility of this occurring, providers may wish to ring AIR on 1800 653 809 to request that the patient record be created.
