Healthy North Coast is excited to announce the relaunch of the Centre for Healthcare Knowledge & Innovation (CHKI), marking a pivotal moment in our journey towards fostering innovation and driving positive change in healthcare across the North Coast of NSW.
Supported by leading service providers, CHKI is set to reignite its mission following a hiatus during COVID-19 and the Northern Rivers flood-recovery.
The vision for CHKI is clear: to make accessing high-quality health innovation events easier and more relevant for local professionals and researchers while fostering a system-wide culture of innovation.
“CHKI is a Healthy North Coast program that’s proudly supported by Social Futures, Southern Cross University, University Centre for Rural Health, the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation, North Coast Allied Health Association, and Ability Options”, said Healthy North Coast CEO Monika Wheeler.
“The program invites health and social care providers, program managers and policymakers, students, researchers, and anyone eager to lead positive systems change to join us on an educational journey into ways we can work differently. Together, we can be the catalysts for change, transforming healthcare into a more equitable, patient-centered, and effective system.”
Reimagining Our Economy: Measuring What Matters
To kick off activities, the Centre for Healthcare Knowledge & Innovation will be hosting a webinar on Tuesday April 30 2024, from 6:45 pm to 8:00 pm. Reimagining Our Economy: Measuring What Matters will explore how the healthcare workforce can collaborate with government and industry partners to uphold the commitments outlined in Australia’s first wellbeing framework – Measuring What Matters.
Dr. Katherine Trebeck, a respected political economist, writer, and advocate, will join us for this important conversation.
Social and Cultural Determinants of Health series
Also coming up in the CHKI program is a 4-part webinar series on the Environmental Determinants of Health, a follow-on series from CHKI’s Social and Cultural Determinants of Health series. From clean air to sustainable housing, each webinar will delve into real-world applications and best practices, equipping participants with actionable strategies to address environmental determinants in the workplace and advocate for healthier, sustainable communities. The series will be hosted by Professor Tony Capon, an internationally recognised public health physician and authority on environmental health and health promotion.
Environmental Determinants of Health Webinar Series – MAY 2024
Join the panel discussion on Friday lunchtimes on the 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st May 2024.
