Regional clinical societies provide a great opportunity to come together with other primary health care professionals and talk through clinical topics particularly relevant to the local region. Held every quarter, each clinical society chooses a topic under an overarching theme – in this instance the theme for May is ‘end-of-life planning’.
Each event is unique to its clinical society’s request, ranging from dementia to palliative care, to end-of-life considerations for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.

Why attend?
The inter-professional learning that happens at regional clinical societies helps to improve understanding and communication when managing complex interactions. Clinicians who attend these events gain a deeper understanding of each other’s professional roles, challenges, and unique contributions; specific communication approaches; and a sense of belonging to a collaborative community reinforcing the patient at the centre of care. Be part of your local clinical society and sign up for clinical society news.
