Primary care is often the first point of contact for a victim survivor of domestic and family violence, and Healthy North Coast is excited to announce the launch of a new Primary Care Impact (PCI) page to support clinicians and practices in these challenging situations.
This new resource aims to equip primary care practices with the tools and knowledge necessary to recognise, respond to, and support victim survivors in a compassionate and informed manner.
What does the page include?
- HealthPathways pages outlining processes for assessment and management, with local referral pathways
- Links to clinician training material from RACGP, Centre of Research Excellence Safer Families and the Australian Government
- Specific resources for First Nations, Refugee and LGBTIQ groups
- Suggested Quality Improvement (QI) ideas for you to complete in your practice
We encourage all primary care providers in our region to explore this resource and integrate these valuable tools into your practice. Together, we can support our teams to make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.
