Activities are continuing in order to ensure coordinated responses to a COVID-19 outbreak in a residential aged care facility (RACF).
The federal/state-level meeting this week with the NSW primary health sector focused on continuity of care for both GPs and allied health, with these discussions still in early stages.
Meetings took place this week with both local health districts, ensuring clarity of roles and responsibilities should there be an RACF outbreak. Please note that GP functions in an outbreak are outlined in:
- Healthy North Coast’s RACF Outbreak GP Framework
- NSW Health’s RACF outbreak guidance, including NSW Health’s and the Australian Government’s joint protocol for RACF residents. This document guides RACF outbreak management and includes the eligibility criteria for RACF residents to be transferred to hospital.
The final staff vaccination rounds through International SOS will occur in the week of 12 October, starting in Port Macquarie before moving to Coffs Harbour, Ballina and finishing in Tweed Heads on 20 October. This is the last round. It will give full vaccination status to all staff who were vaccinated by International SOS.
