The Australian Red Cross provides daily telephone calls to check on the wellbeing of people who are at risk of accidents or illnesses that may go unnoticed, such as falling and being unable to call for help.
The calls provide reassurance and help people to maintain independence.
Friendly volunteers make calls each morning, 365 days a year. If the call is not answered, Red Cross takes action to ensure the person is okay.
Who is this service for?
People who live alone and are at risk. Especially those who are frail and aged, have a disability, are housebound or recovering from an illness or accident. People whose carers or family are temporarily away can also receive the service on a short-term basis.
