Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We all have a role to play when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.
2021 marks twenty years of Reconciliation Australia and almost three decades of Australia’s formal reconciliation process.

National Sorry Day — Wednesday 26 May 2021
Healthy North Coast CEO Julie Sturgess shared this message on National Sorry Day:
Today is National Sorry Day – a day we acknowledge the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people forcibly removed from their families and communities, both past and present.
We recognise the impact of intergenerational trauma on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Historical truth-telling is important in enabling intergenerational healing for Stolen Generation survivors and their descendants.
We encourage our staff, business partners, friends and families to reflect on the past and consider how we can be part of the healing process for our people and nation.
