To help aged care staff understand and use My Health Records, Healthy North Coast is running a webinar training series.
The training series will be delivered in partnership with NSW and ACT Primary Health Networks, the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) and various resident management software vendors.
Each session will provide an overview of key features and benefits of My Health Record and walk-through a demonstration of how to access My Health Record using the relevant software.
Why is this important?
In aged care, managing residents’ health records accurately and securely is crucial. My Health Record (MHR) is a key system that makes it easier for healthcare providers to access important health information about residents, helping them to make informed decisions about their care. The system also allows healthcare providers to share information more easily, which is especially useful when a resident moves between different healthcare settings, such as hospitals or aged care homes.
What’s next?
The first monthly training was held on 20 March 2025 and focused on accessing My Health Record using the National Provider Portal. The session had over 100 registered aged care nurses, GPs and other healthcare providers. 90% of attendees said they were likely to use MHR in their home or clinical practice after the training.
Future MHR webinar training sessions will be held in April, May and June, with dates and software vendors are yet to be confirmed. Please keep an eye out on Healthy North Coast’s event listings as we will be promoting these events as details become available. We will also communicate through cross-sector meetings.
