ATAGI clinical guidance on COVID-19 vaccine administration errors
All immunisation providers should complete COVID-19 vaccination training and best practice should be followed to minimise the risk of administration errors. A vaccine administration error occurs when a COVID-19 vaccine is given outside the current clinical guidelines. New guidelines from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) provide advice on the management of a range of possible vaccine administration errors, including when a replacement (repeat) dose is recommended. For more information refer to ATAGI clinical guidance on COVID-19 vaccine administration errors.

ATAGI statement on use of booster doses in adolescents aged 12-15 years
On 8 April 2022, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved a booster dose of Comirnaty (Pfizer) COVID-19 vaccine for use in adolescents aged 12-15 years. However, At this time, ATAGI does not recommend that adolescents aged 12-15 years need to receive a booster dose of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine and will continue to review international evidence on efficacy of a booster in this age group. For more information refer to ATAGI statement on use of booster doses in adolescents aged 12-15 years.
