Co-design is still underway for Healthy Towns in South West Rocks, with several projects being defined and scoped before implementation.
Practitioner Breakfast with South West Rocks GPs
South West Rocks GPs were invited to attend a Healthy Towns practitioner breakfast in early April to provide further feedback on clinical issues raised during the consultation process. GPs will help to co-design solutions that Healthy Towns can fund to help alleviate GP access issues.

My Emergency Dr App
The My Emergency Dr app pilot has been extended to 30 June 2019 to provide additional time for South West Rocks residents to trial the service with a referral from their GP.
The app does not replace the need for calling 000 in an emergency, but allows access to an emergency room doctor via video conference if a patient can’t get in to see their regular GP. The service can provide prescriptions and order further testing, and may help save South West Rocks residents the 40-minute drive to Kempsey Hospital Emergency Department.
Cooking for 1 or 2
Healthy Towns is partnering with the Mid North Coast Local Health District to provide cooking and nutrition classes for residents who find themselves living alone, or cooking for just themselves and one other.
The course will run over five weeks and will be free for local residents. Start dates will be announced shortly.
