Transport for NSW is introducing changes to make the process of submitting ‘Fitness to Drive’ medical assessments faster and easier.
With the automation of HealthLink, patients’ medical information is now able to be submitted online direct to Transport for NSW. With these changes, paper forms will be discontinued from 31 July 2022.
Customers will continue to receive written notification from Transport for NSW when they are required to undertake a medical review. The request letter will continue to display the customer’s licence details, medical conditions, type of assessments required and their due date.
The requirements to undertake a medical review for older drivers and those with a chronic medical condition will not change.
Paper forms will continue to be available to customers who request them from Service NSW by calling 13 22 13 or visiting a service centre. However, forms submitted online will streamline processing times.
