Ten free bulk-billed sessions are available at Gidget House with a GP referral and a mental health treatment plan.
Gidget Foundation Australia provides programs to support the emotional wellbeing of new and expecting parents. One in five mothers and one in 10 fathers will experience PNDA.
Gidget House Coffs Harbour is co-located with the Tresillian Family Care Centre at 68 Albany St, Coffs Harbour. Gidget Foundation also has a telehealth service, Start Talking. It is available for people living more than 20km from Gidget House. Start Talking is for people who may find face-to-face sessions impractical due to distance and other factors.
Psychologist Jan Andren welcomes referrals from Coffs Harbour area GPs. Jan is a perinatal specialist psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience. Originally from Coffs Harbour, she moved back to the area in 2019.
Jan is passionate about early intervention parenting and the impact on children. She is trained in the Circle of Security parenting program. With a colleague, she recently compiled a social/emotional wellbeing program for parents of children aged 12 months to 12 years.
Jan’s clinical practice is strongly oriented toward attachment styles and trauma as the basis of psychopathology. She is also trained in therapeutic interventions. In the past five years she has focussed on further training in trauma.
Jan is available for appointments at Gidget House Coffs Harbour from Monday to Wednesday.
