- In the event of a natural disaster, provide telehealth to people who have been displaced or cannot see their regular GP. Access to e-scripts is much-needed when it is not possible to see a GP in person.
- Healthy North Coast has also coordinated key primary care messages to disaster management partners including local health districts, the Department of Communities and Justice, Resilience NSW and the Red Cross.
- Our preparation and planning includes identifying general practices to deliver the We Are Open initiative in the event of a natural disaster. The initiative’s focus is on supporting general practice and Aboriginal medical services to extend their opening hours at short notice.
- Health professionals needing to contact Healthy North Coast during the Christmas period can do so via a dedicated number, 02 6618 5404. This number is supported by an on-call team.
