Celebrating Women’s Health Week 2025: “Say Yes to You”
The Coffs Harbour Women’s Health Centre recently hosted its annual Women’s Health Breakfast, bringing together over 100 colleagues, partners, and friends to celebrate Women’s Health Week. The event was a vibrant showcase of community, connection, and the power of partnership—highlighting how, through funding from Healthy North Coast Primary Health Network and NSW Health, support from the Centre’s Lead Agency Health Voyage, and collaboration with local organisations, the Centre is reaching more women and gender diverse people than ever before.
Partnership in action
The Centre’s work is made possible thanks to strong local partnerships, innovative leadership from Health Voyage, and the support of Healthy North Coast and NSW Health.
Through the Centre and the Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic, more than 9,300 direct occasions of service have been delivered in the past year.
Outreach clinics in Dorrigo, Urunga, Bellingen, Woolgoolga, and Glenreagh bring accessible and low or no cost care in to regional and remote communities.
Weekly Women’s Health Nurse support at Pete’s Place offer homeless women and gender diverse people vital health care and navigation, breaking down barriers for those most at risk.
Reaching refugee communities
With the support of local partners and in response to community feedback, the Centre has launched Refugee Women’s Health Talks – a culturally safe, welcoming space that promotes trust, health literacy, and connection for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse women and gender diverse people.
Tailored menopause education sessions for Yazidi, Burmese, and multicultural groups, as well as partnerships with Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance, have helped foster inclusion and empower participants with life-changing knowledge.

Education and empowerment
Beyond clinical care, the Centre delivered 21 education sessions in schools and community groups on topics including menopause, endometriosis, sexual and reproductive health, mental wellbeing, and pregnancy care. Weekly health and wellbeing groups support mental health, cardiovascular health, diabetes prevention, and social connection, with 2,315 group occasions of service recorded.
A movement with deep roots
Since 1986, the Women’s Health Centre has been a beacon for the community, growing from feminist activism into a values-led, regional charity dedicated to quality, accessible, respectful, and responsive care. Next year marks the Centre’s 40th anniversary – a testament to its enduring impact and commitment to health equity.
Looking ahead
As we share the message of “Saying Yes to You,” we look forward to continued partnership and progress. With every connection, conversation, and act of care, we are building a healthier, more inclusive future for all women and gender diverse people on the Coffs Coast and beyond.
