As we welcome visitors to our region for the holiday period, it’s important that we continue to keep our community COVID safe.
NSW Health strongly recommends that people wear masks in public places where it is difficult to maintain physical distancing, and also in enclosed spaces such as planes, buses and trains.
Healthy North Coast is distributing a supply of reusable cloth masks for community members and visitors to our region’s popular holiday spots, in particular Byron Bay which is set to receive a high volume of tourists over the coming weeks.
Masks are free of charge and have been made available at Ballina Byron Gateway Airport for people arriving in the region.
Masks are also available at the Byron Visitor Information Centre, 80 Jonson Street, Byron Bay and being sent to key tourist locations including hotels and backpackers.
We have also developed community information posters that encourage visitors and community members to be vigilant and get tested. Printed posters have been provided throughout the North Coast, plus digital posters are available for download/printing below:
