Knee and hip osteoarthritis is a cause of hip and knee pain, but this is only part of the picture. Excessive weight, weakness, stress and environmental factors also play a role.
Since June 2017, the Specialised Osteoarthritis Screening (SOS) Clinic in Tweed Heads has provided evidence-based holistic assessment and management for people with osteoarthritis (OA) related hip and knee pain. In January the one hundredth client was seen after referral from a GP or specialist.
Service highlights include (after 3 months):
The SOS clinic operates from The Tweed Hospital Physiotherapy Department and is available for persons with OA related hip or knee joint pain not on the waiting list for surgery.
