Ballina Kids Therapy has opened in Tamar Street, Ballina.
The new therapy business is the passion of Jenny Lawrence, a qualified occupational therapist and teacher with many years of experience in providing therapy and support to families and children. Jenny has additional qualifications in neuroscience and family systems. She uses her training and current research to deliver up-to-date, quality interventions.
Occupational therapy for children is about helping kids to achieve in their ‘occupation’ – that is, their day-to-day tasks. Examples of this are:
- Learning skills of self-regulation
- Managing emotions
- Mastering play skills
- Getting children ready for school
Learning the living skills that are children’s ‘jobs’ will be part of a normal day in the new therapy centre. Having fun or playing offers infinite opportunities for children to thrive and grow.
Jenny’s vision is to provide family-focused and tailored therapy support to children in the Northern Rivers. She has created a space for everyone who comes to Ballina Kids Therapy to enjoy. With individual and group programs, Ballina Kids Therapy also offers flexible appointment times to support families with late afternoon and weekend appointments.
Individual and group sessions are available by appointment. Jenny always recommends calling first to chat about the type of support you are looking for. Phone 0402 228 233.
Funding for appointments can be supported under a number of different programs including NDIS, and, with a GP referral, Better Access to Mental Health, Healthy Minds and Enhanced Primary Care.
