The AIDER (Assist Infirm, Disabled and Elderly Residents) program is a free, one-off service that helps people to live safely and confidently in home areas where bush fires may start.
Infirm, elderly and disabled people can recieve free help from the NSW Rural Fire Service to ensure their homes are bush fire ready. The property must be on an area of land that can support a bush fire or is likely to be subject to bush fire attack. Aged residents and people with disabling conditions who have limited domestic support from family, relatives, friends or other services are eligible for the NSW Rural Fire Service to come and thin vegetation, slash long grass and clean gutters.
If any of your patients live in a bush fire prone area, please give them this flyer. The NSW Rural Fire Service can ensure their property is safer in the event of bush fire this summer.
