The Northern Rivers has a new general surgeon, with Dr Gratian Punch opening up his surgery to public and private patients at St Vincent’s Medical Suites in Lismore.
“I provide surgical care for many conditions relating to the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, oesophagus and treat problems such as hernias, reflux and obesity. I can also assist with the diagnosis and treatment of all aspects of general surgery including breast, thyroid and skin cancer.” Dr Punch said.
“There have been immense gains in laparoscopic ‘keyhole’ approaches to complex problems over the past few years. We can now treat things like hiatus hernias and liver lesions laparoscopically. I am looking forward to offering this to the local community,” he added.
Dr Gratian Punch came to Alstonville with his family when he was 11 months old. He went to primary school at St Joseph’s in Alstonville and secondary school at Trinity Catholic College Lismore until being awarded a Bursary to finish high school in Sydney.
“I am delighted that I have been able to move back to the region with my wife and young son to join the team of surgeons at Lismore Base, Casino & District Memorial, Ballina District and St Vincent’s Private Hospitals,” said Dr Punch.
Dr Punch is a fully qualified General Surgeon and an accredited member of the Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (ANZHPBA).
He has joined Dr Austin Curtin’s rooms at St Vincent’s and has immediate appointment availability for patients at this time.
Referrals can be made through Medical Objects or fax on 6622 1254. Dr Punch’s office number is 6621 7796.
