From 1 July 2022, Coffs Harbour-based privately employed allied health care providers will have access to the Australian Government’s Free Interpreting Services (FIS).
The FIS aims to provide equitable access to key services for people with limited or no English language proficiency. The service is delivered by the Department of Home Affairs’ Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on behalf the Australian Government. More information on FIS is available here.
The initial funding is for 4 years and includes an evaluation to support consideration of any further investment to other areas.
