NADA Conference 2023: Creating safe spaces
Save the date for the Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies Conference 2023: Creating Safe Spaces, to be held on 11–12 May at the ICC Sydney. Showcasing interventions designed to improve outcomes for clients, this event will inform with new ideas, engage with the evidence base and provide networking opportunities.
Abstracts are now open
NADA invites abstract submissions for oral presentations, workshops, symposium and poster presentations. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your innovative practise or research. Abstracts must be submitted by 5pm, Friday 20 January 2023. No extensions to the deadline will be granted.
Workers and services across all sectors are encouraged to submit an abstract. Interactive and practise-focused sessions will maximize opportunities for conference participants to exchange practise and experience.
Conference themes
Presentations may focus on any topic related to the conference theme, Creating Safe Spaces. The theme aims to highlight sector achievement and innovation, with a focus on:
- worker wellbeing
- cultural safety
- consumer engagement and peer work
- connection and collaborative practise
- the strength of communities of practise
- increasing inclusion and equity.
NADA encourages presentation proposals from people who are working with or identify as part of communities (including but not limited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, gender and sexuality diverse communities, and individuals with lived experience). NADA also encourages consideration of the needs and perspectives of these populations. Find abstracts information and guidelines here.
