Healthy North Coast welcomes the Australian Government’s announcement of the official opening of the Tweed Heads Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, creating another option for Tweed residents and visitors needing treatment for urgent, but non-life-threatening, health needs.
The new Clinic will give the Tweed community greater choice when they need same-day or after-hours care, helping ease pressure on the local hospital system and ensuring people receive high-quality care when they need it most.
Funded through the Australian Government’s Primary Health Network program, the service will operate extended hours, seven days a week. It is 100% free (bulk-billed), without the need for an appointment or referral.

It is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of local GPs, nurses and other health practitioners from Tweed Health for Everyone, who was appointed as the provider of the Clinic after a successful tender process.
The Clinic is now open to all community members. No appointment is required.
- Address: 33-35 Corporation Circuit, Tweed Heads South NSW
- Hours: 7:30am-7:30pm, 7 days per week, 365 days per year (including public holidays)
Medicare UCCs provide treatment for urgent, but not life-threatening injuries or illnesses. These may include minor infections, minor fractures, sprains, sports injuries, neck and back pain, urinary tract infections, and more.
Tweed Heads is the third Medicare Urgent Care Clinic in the North Coast region, following the establishment of UCCs in Lismore and Coffs Harbour. For more information on the Medicare Urgent Care Clinics across the North Coast, visit hnc.org.au/medicare-urgent-care-clinics.
