New HealthPathways have recently been published on the Mid and North Coast HealthPathways website.
In order to maintain accuracy and quality, each pathway on the Mid and North Coast HealthPathways website undergoes a formal review every two years.
As demand for mental health treatment continues to soar, new figures show that GPs are doing the heaviest lifting to ease the burden of mental illness. The HealthPathways team have recently localised a suite of Mental Health Referral pages to help clinicians navigate the system.
Obstructive sleep apnoea is one of the most common sleep disorders. Studies using sleep recording show that OSA affects about 25% of adult males and 10% of adult females. HealthPathways has recently published an Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Pathway for Adults.
There are often opportunities to be involved in the development of new HealthPathways, either as a member of a workgroup, or in reviewing pathways before they are published.
The Suicide Risk HealthPathway has been created by a workgroup of local clinicians with expertise in mental health. The pathway provides some useful tools that can assist in the clinical evaluation of people at imminent risk of suicide.
