Have you been attending the Coffs Harbour Health Campus for venesections to manage your haemochromatosis?
If so, your blood donations may be suitable for supply to hospital patients. The Australian Red Cross Blood Service would like to receive your referral and assess your eligibility to have your venesections converted into much needed blood donations for patients.
The Australian Red Cross Blood Service has one of the safest blood supplies in the world, collected from a wonderful volunteer donor pool. Your doctor has advised you to have venesections to treat a medical problem, so although your blood donations aren’t voluntary they may still be safe to supply to hospitals for life-saving blood transfusions.
If you think you may be a suitable blood donor and would like to see your blood being used for life-saving purposes, please have a discussion with your referring doctor and ask to be assessed and referred to the Australian Red Cross Blood Service electronically via the High Ferritin App.
This app can be found on the website: www.transfusion.com.au
The Coffs Harbour Blood Donor Centre is located in the Homebase Shopping Centre, has easy parking, and supplies refreshments after your donation. Please have a discussion with your doctor today to start putting your blood donations to work saving lives.
