On Thursday 10 February 2022 from 6:30 pm to 8 pm, the Tweed Valley Clinical Society will hold its first event of the year. Delivered via Microsoft Teams for COVID-safety, the meeting invites the Tweed Valley primary care workforce to come together and explore social isolation and loneliness interventions.
Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, surveys reveal that more than half (54%) of respondents have experienced increased feelings of social isolation and loneliness.* This cohort is at increased risk for a variety of physical and mental conditions: high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, a weakened immune system, anxiety, depression and cognitive decline, to name a few.
Attend the clinical society meeting to learn the difference between social isolation and loneliness, get to know clinical cues and who’s most at risk, and discover local referral options and online resources for social prescribing.
We invite all those working in:
- general practice (including practice staff and admin)
- allied health
- Aboriginal health
- nursing
- pharmacy
- medical specialities.
Speakers
Jo Winwood, Head of Be Someone for Someone (Tackling Loneliness Together), Feros Care

Supporting this conversation will be a local psychologist and represenatives from Tweed Shire Council, CarersNSW, Plus Social, Be Connected, Healthy North Coast, the Aged Care Assessment Team and more.
