Tracey Maisey has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive of Northern NSW Local Health District, bringing a wealth of experience in two community-focused portfolios of public health and housing.
Mrs Maisey has held senior positions in health, most recently in New Zealand as Executive Director Planning, Funding and Business Intelligence for the Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards, as well as holding the role of Interim Chief Strategy, Planning and Performance Officer for Health New Zealand, and has previously been Chief Executive Officer of a District Health Board in New Zealand.
Healthy North Coast Chief Executive, Monika Wheeler, welcomed the announcement of Mrs Maisey’s appointment.
‘We look forward to our continuing health system partnership and advancing the integration of patient-centred health care across our region,’ Ms Wheeler said.
‘The NSW Primary Health Network – NSW Health Joint Statement sets out how NSW Health, the NSW PHNs and the Australian Government work together across all levels of the healthcare system to improve community health outcomes.
‘Healthy North and the Northern NSW LHD have developed a strong partnership, particularly over recent years with bushfires, the pandemic and devastating floods all impacting the delivery of integrated healthcare in the region.
‘My thanks also to Acting Chief Executive, Lynne Weir, for her leadership this year. I look forward to continuing to work with Lynne in her role as Director of Clinical Operations.’
Ms Weir will continue in the Acting Chief Executive role until Mrs Maisey commences in mid-August.
Implementation of the Joint Statement is being led by the NSW Primary Health Networks and has been funded by NSW Health and the Australian Government Department of Health.
