Healthy North Coast is supporting the Australian Government’s recent announcement to establish GP-led Medicare Urgent Care Clinics (UCCs) in Lismore and Coffs Harbour. Eligible general practices, community health centres and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in becoming a Medicare UCC.
Coffs Harbour and Lismore are among 14 NSW locations identified for the establishment of Medicare UCCs, which are a new model of care designed to reduce pressure on hospital emergency departments.
Medicare UCCs are designed to complement the NSW Government’s Urgent Care Services (UCSs). Providers who have already completed an EOI for UCSs are not required to re-apply. However, you will still need to confirm your details via a registration form.
All providers interested in finding out more about the Medicare UCC EOI should read the FAQs and complete the registration form.
