The July count of recorded immunisations from data-sharing practices is now available in Primary Care Impact. It shows that data-sharing general practices across our region delivered 143,000 influenza immunisations during (despite!) COVID-19. While the data has not been adjusted for increases in the number of data-sharing practices year on year, it still looks to be a great result.
Comparing regional averages for flu immunisation to vulnerable groups from March to June this year (same number of data-sharing practices), shows the following increases:
- Proportion of patients aged 65 and over and proportion of patients with diabetes with recorded flu immunisation was up by 11% from March to June to 64% and 65% of respectively.
- Proportion of patients with COPD with recorded flu immunisation was up by 10% from March to June to 68%.
This has not been easy; it has taken great care, ingenuity and effort. A sincere thanks to everyone in general practice who made flu immunisations accessible and safe during COVID-19. Your contribution does not go unnoticed.
