The Men’s Health Education Rural Van (MHERV) visited various sites across the Mid North Coast over the last few weeks. At the last stop in Port Macquarie, the service broke the state record. The previous record was 88 visits in one town. In Port Macquarie, the van received 112 visits over two days.
The Men’s Health Education Rural Van’ is a Rotary project. It is a purpose-built caravan with two consulting rooms that will tour 56 centres in NSW between August 2017 and May 2018. It has a full-time Registered Nurse who, with the suuport of local community nurses, conducts health tests among rural men.
Congratulations to MHERV for this new record and thanks to Rotary Sunrise and the Mid North Coast Local Health District for supporting the van’s visit to Port Macquarie.
If you missed the van, please visit a local doctor to have a regular check up.
