Applications are now open for primary health care nurses interested in completing the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association’s (APNA) Transition to Practice Program.
The program provides an evidence-based framework of education and support to nurses who have transitioned to primary health care and feel they would benefit from additional assistance in understanding primary health care.
To be eligible for the March 2023 intake, nurses must be working in a primary healthcare setting. Applicants may be eligible for a fully funded place through the Health Workforce Scholarship Program if they are working in:
- an Aboriginal medical service
- an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
- a rural or remote setting (MMM 3-7).
Nurses with more than four years’ experience in primary health care are also invited to apply for the program as mentors.
APNA provides continuing professional development and opportunities for nurses to grow both personally and professionally in their careers. Click here for more information on the Transition to Practice Program and to apply.
