The Queensland Government has established a specialist COVID-19 Health Care Support Service to complement the existing exemption process for travellers entering Queensland.
This new unit will ensure support for people who are travelling to Queensland to access health care or have specific health care needs while undertaking quarantine.
Enhancing the existing infrastructure, the 134 COVID (13 42 68) line will be expanded with a team of nurses, social workers and emergency medical dispatchers. This team will triage, manage queries and escalate issues for people crossing the border for health care reasons. This will supplement the exemption process already provided by the Queensland Government.

Further resources on accessing essential health care are available on the Queensland Health website.
A self-assessment quiz is also available on the website to enable the public to navigate through their individual circumstances to determine if accessing the service is needed.
