The You, Me & Baby Smokefree clinic opened its doors at Lismore Base Hospital on 1 February 2018.
The clinic is in the Antenatal rooms within Lismore Base Hospital and will be open Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm. This is a pilot program until June.
Even though the clinic is at the Lismore Base Hospital, it will provide a service to all pregnant women across the Local Health District who need support along their smoke-free journey. To do this, the clinic will engage the help of local tobacco champions.
Scheduled, drop-in appointments and direct antenatal referrals received on the day will be accepted.
Women will receive a mix of face-to-face and telephone/text support, assistance with nicotine replacement therapy and information to support them on their smokefree journey. Women will also receive regular smokerlyzer readings to help monitor their progress.
This pilot project is a partnership initiative between the LBH Women’s Care Unit and NNSW LHD Health Promotion.
