The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care invites practitioners to help shape Australia’s first safety and quality standards for the primary health care sector, currently in development.
The draft standards provide a national framework and strategies to improve safety and quality in primary health care, with a focus on delivering consumer-centred care.
Primary health care providers within scope of the standards include registered health practitioners such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers, dentists, general practitioners, nurses and midwives, optometrists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, podiatrists and psychologists, and self-regulated practitioners such as audiologists, dietitians and exercise physiologists.
A survey is available to submit your feedback on the draft standards. The consultation period will conclude at 5pm on Friday 27 November 2020.
