The MyMedicare program is making waves across the Mid and North Coast as GPs actively invite aged care residents to register.
This free, voluntary system links residents with their regular GP and primary care team, fostering stronger connections and improving health outcomes without storing clinical health data.
For residents, registering with MyMedicare provides significant benefits, including regular GP visits, better chronic disease management, and reduced hospitalisations through continuity of care.
From July 2025, registered patients will gain access to Chronic Condition Management items, alongside extended telehealth consultations covered by Medicare.
To ensure residents and GPs can fully benefit from this program, aged care homes may need to assist with coordinating the registration and consent process.
