NCPHN’s My Health Record team is available to partner with healthcare providers to facilitate ongoing consumer education and support on My Health Record and what it means for them. This can be tailored to your practice needs, either on or off site, and on-demand.
Patient/consumer demand for My Health Record information and education is expected to increase in 2019. Therefore North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) wants to ensure that our healthcare services/practices are well supported and ready to engage with consumers now.
We are available now to patients who have not yet made an informed decision. Continuing support is also available with the focus on helping patients make the best use of My Health Record.

On 26 November 2018, legislation to improve the privacy and security of the My Health Record system passed into law by Parliament. The means the majority of Australians will have a My Health Record created in 2019. In addition, the opt-out period has been extended until 31 January 2019 so Australians can make an informed decision about whether or not to have a record created for them.

As we know the primary goals of My Health Record is to:
- Improve health care – particularly patient coordination and continuation of care, and
- Enable consumers to become more informed and active participants in the management of their own health.
