It’s Mental Health Month, with some great youth-focused events for those aged 12–29 happening in the Clarence Valley during October.
Why not drop in for a barbecue with Connect at the Iluka Skate Park at 4 pm next Thursday, 22 October.
On Friday 22 October there will be a barbecue at Hakea Park in Yamba from 4 pm. Tune in to culture with Mudyala.
YEP Careers will be giving the lowdown on the workforce at a barbecue at Coutts Crossing Skate Park on Monday, 25 October.
‘Tune In Clarence Valley’ on October 29 aims to highlight different ways we can tune in to the world around us to stay fulfilled and well. Don’t miss this online event brought to you by Big River Youth Connections and The Buttery from 4 pm to 7 pm, featuring live music by Skerzo.
This year’s ‘tune in’ theme is centred around being aware of what is happening within you, and in the world around you.
Being present by tuning in has been shown to help build self-awareness, help make effective choices, reduce the impact of worry and build positive connections.
National Mental Health Month is an initiative of the Mental Health Foundation Australia to advocate for and raise awareness of Australian mental health. It’s an opportunity for the Australian community to come together to raise awareness and promote better mental health for all.
