The Black Dog Institute is undertaking research to investigate whether digital interventions can provide a crucial stepping stone for youth awaiting access to mental health services.
Long wait times for mental health services can put young patients in jeopardy and also add pressure onto health care professionals. They are also associated with worsening symptoms, service dissatisfaction and treatment drop-out.
The Institute wants to hear from general practitioners through a simple, 30-minute survey where they ask for insights into wait times, the impact of wait times on the ability to provide care for patients 12-17 years old and views on a new digital intervention for young people while they await care.
Participants will be reimbursed $50 for their time.
