It has been a busy couple of months for Healthy Towns Maclean. Read on to find out about some of the initiatives we have progressed so far.
Gulmarrad Gatherings
On Saturday 8 December, Gulmarrad Gatherings commenced. The inaugural event saw the unveiling of a community library and launch of a book swap.
Residents were invited to swap or donate a book at the community library, join in a free yoga class, receive an update on local facilities and enjoy a snack from the Little Local Café cart. There was a great turnout of community members as well as MP Chris Gulaptis, Mayor Jim Simmons and Councillors Debrah Novak and Greg Clancy.
Funding for the establishment of Gulmarrad Community Gatherings was provided by Healthy Towns Maclean and Lions Club Maclean.
Gulmarrad Gatherings will be held on the second Saturday of each month from 4 – 6 pm at the red bench on Brooms Head Road. Each gathering will have a theme to promote community connection and wellbeing.
The next Gulmarrad Gathering will be held from 4-6 pm on Saturday 9 February 2019. The event will include a craft display and free exercise class. For further information please contact Carolyn Ardler on 0427 250 779.
