Community members came together in six North Coast towns to have their say on health and wellbeing in May and June. Community Action Planning Workshops were held in Casino, Evans Head, Maclean, Woolgoolga, South West Rocks and Lake Cathie.
Thank you to all those who attended a workshop. The passion and enthusiasm in each community was fantastic, with over 300 people participating across the six towns.
Each workshop focused on local priorities including mental health, access to healthcare, transport, diet and exercise, ageing issues and more. The sessions generated lively discussions and great ideas for local projects. These included health forums, running and walking groups, first aid training and specialist outreach services.
A special thanks to all those who volunteered to join a working group to progress initiatives in each town. NCPHN will be in contact with you in the coming weeks so we can take these ideas from vision to reality in the second half of 2018.
