Grafton’s Harmony Day Event will be held
on Saturday, March 24th starting at 9am. It celebrates cultural diversity in the Clarence Valley and highlights indigenous culture.
The event will be officially opened by a Bundjalung Elder at 9am at the Small Barn at the Grafton Showground and is followed by dance and musical performances from various cultures.
A forum featuring the Uluru Statement will begin at noon featuring keynote speaker, Thomas Mayor. Thomas was a participant in the Northern Territory dialogue and represented his region in the National Constitutional Reform Convention at Uluru in May 2017. He provides a fascinating and informative insight into the grassroots campaign.
Thomas Mayor is joined by the CVA Healing Centre’s Janelle Brown and Djinders Project Manager Rachael Cavanagh. There will be a Q&A opportunity and forum is a place for people to engage respectfully.
