The Murwillumbah General Practice Respiratory Clinic is now open to support the North Coast COVID-19 response.
The clinic is one of six respiratory clinics to be funded by the Australian Government on the North Coast as part of our coordinated health system response to COVID-19.
General Practice Respiratory Clinics will:
- Complement existing LHD COVID-19 Clinics across the region, in partnership with general practice.
- Reduce demand on our hospital emergency departments and free them up to support people with severe symptoms.
- Keep people with potential COVID-19 related symptoms separate from patients visiting general practice for non-respiratory issues. This will support practices to focus on chronic disease management and regular appointments.
- Optimise the use of available stocks of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Murwillumbah Respiratory Clinic will provide free assessment, testing and diagnosis for people with mild to moderate respiratory symptoms.
Local residents are encouraged to book a telehealth appointment with their regular GP in the first instance. Where indicated, an appointment should then be made to attend the respiratory clinic. Referrals are not required. Bookings may be made online via HotDoc or by phone (02) 8188 3797.
Opening Hours: 09.15 – 16.30 Monday to Friday.
Location: Prince Lane Carpark (at back of King St Medical Centre, 14 King St Murwillumbah)
