Here at Healthy North Coast, we love innovation, good news stories and acknowledging the great work that occurs in our footprint.
This edition, we are pleased to share the following, which was submitted by Jenny Chapman, General Manager – Royal Freemason’s Benevolent Institution:
I would like to nominate our volunteer Marcia Lusted, she comes in every week and spends time with our residents. She started a small sewing group and we now have 3 donated sewing machines and are working on a project for Raleigh Primary School, creating aprons for their cooking classes.
Residents are now telling their families not to come in on Wednesday afternoons because they are too busy to see them. Even ladies that don’t sew are sitting down and knitting or just chatting. It has been so lovely to see!
If you would like to submit a good news story, or acknowledge someone or something amazing going on in your workplace, please email flittlewood@hnc.org.au.
