There is widespread evidence demonstrating the relationship between the health and wellbeing of an individual and the environments in which they are born, grow, live, work and age. Factors such as employment, housing, education and social support can work to strengthen or destabilise the health of people and their communities. We refer to these factors as the social determinants of health (SDoH).
Over a series of free webcasts, delivered from a state-of-the-art studio in Sydney, the Centre for Healthcare Knowledge & Innovation, together with Social Futures and Health Justice Australia invites you to learn about SDoH.
No download necessary – simply enter your email, save the date and be ready to take part. If you can’t make it to the live webcast, register anyway and receive a post-event link to the watch-on-demand video.

This five-part webcast series will start on Monday 3 June 2019 at 2pm – 4pm.
The series will outline the theory behind the social determinants of health and then contextualise actions in the detail of early life, socioeconomic position, housing, communities and neighbourhoods. It will look at evidence, best practice and how you can innovate alongside the people in which you serve. To close the series, it will look at how health justice partnerships (HJPs) can help you to achieve better health and justice outcomes for vulnerable communities.
