Join Dr Penny Hutchinson and Dr Robert Horvath online as they explore the changing epidemiology of Q fever in Australia and review the diagnosis and management of chronic Q fever.
This webinar will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, 7 September 2022 and will run for 90 minutes.
The epidemiology of the zoonotic infection Coxiella burnetii that causes Q fever is changing. Primary care plays an active role in identifying acute (fever) and chronic manifestations (endocarditis) of this nationally notifiable disease.
Traditionally, Q fever risk has predominantly been attributed to occupational exposure through working alongside infected animals – mainly sheep, cattle and goats.
Register here to attend this event to learn more about the groups most at risk within Australia and why it’s important to diagnose early to help minimise long-term complications in your patients.
