The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) NSW & ACT Faculty has developed a new award for GPs who have fellowed within the last five years.
The NSW&ACT Eric Fisher Award has been established in honour of the late Dr Eric Fisher who was seen as a role model by his colleagues and held several key leadership positions throughout his 67 years of medicine. Dr Fisher was passionate about young general practitioners and fervently believed that emotional wellbeing has a significant impact on a person’s health and recovery.
The Eric Fisher Award will be awarded to a NSW&ACT New Fellow who has a strong focus on the emotional wellbeing of their patients as well as that of their colleagues in the medical profession.
This award will be judged on the following criteria:
- Demonstrates a commitment to self-care and wellbeing.
- Demonstrates involvement with improving the wellbeing and self care of other doctors.
- Uses this knowledge to facilitate good care of their patients by addressing the biopsychosocial factors that contribute to wellbeing.
Nominations must be received by 5pm on Friday 10 August 2018.
